Lidar in Nantucket - A Poem

A little lighthearted poem about one of my favorite subjects.

There once was a man from Nantucket
He got some lidar and said Fabulous(This could even make RI jealous)

There are points, contours, and DEMs
Those QA reports, what little gems

RMSE – that equals root mean square error
Comparing old contours to lidar, that's a terror

Point spacing, yeah, now we are talking
More than 8 points per meter, just shocking

Classifications, they got'em all right
Water, ground, buildings, man – outa sight

They're using lidar for awful lots
Inundation, sea level rise, even 3D plots

Intensity and return numbers are in the file
You should check it out, just contact that dude Keil

I like to use lidar on all my maps
You use it to make profiles, perhaps

Color ramps and shaded reliefs
In Puerto Rico they map barrier reefs

In closing, and I am sure you've heard enough
But this is just some damn good stuff
